[Offintheshower] Practice Time

On the first play of the game the other guys threw a 50 yard touchdown, 
things didnt get much better after that.  We are still looking for our first 
touchdown of the year, although we did have a decent drive in the second 
half where we marched for 3 first downs before turning the ball over on 
their 15 yard line.  Having actual pass plays on paper and looking them over 
in each huddle was awesome, I know with some practice we will become more 
competent.

On defense we were confused most of the time.  I strongly believe man to man 
is the best way to go.  We tried zone for most of the game and were beat for 
touchdowns nearly every drive.  I dont mind giving up 5 or 7 yards on a 
play, but they threw at least 5 x 40 yard touchdowns, and some of them the 
guy could have walked into the endzone, and its b/c we were confused in our 
zone and werent sure who to cover.  Sometimes 3 guys would cover the same 
guy.

The team we played lost their first game 44-8.  And I thought this team was 
good, I am scared to see them team that that destroyed these guys.

I enjoyed playing QB, and we made some real nice plays where are guy ran a 
great route and made a great catch.  I also threw a couple INT's, but the 
confidence will build with time.

I had a good laugh when I was returning a kickoff and I lateralled it to one 
of our guys in the middle, TOTALLY caught him off gaurd and it hit him in 
the chest.  I kinda hung him out to dry.  The other team were kinda jerks at 
times too, wanted penalties called on us etc.  I dont want to get a bad rep 
in this league already, i think if we better understood the rules we wouldnt 
look and be so disorganized.  And I am sure other teams would like some 
competition from us.  They scored more points in the first 8 seconds than we 
did all game :P

I know a couple teachers as well, and will check things out for a practice 
facilty.
