Still no word from the league coordinator on this weeks exhibition game.
I'll send him another email this morning.

I've put together a small playbook for you to chew on.  Comments and
criticism welcome.  Some of these came from Madden 99 so you know they're
awesome.

Some of these plays should be obvious (WSC, WTL)  Note that there are two
formations here, one with a running back.

For the Shuttle Pass, the idea is to draw the rusher into the pocket, then a
quick dump over his head to the center.  This will probably only work
against a zone defense, but should be effective in those cases.

With the Reverse Option, there are a lot of opportunities.  The QB will hand
off to the running back, who can hand it off/ lateral to the weak side
receiver in a reverse, or fake that and keep running.  If the receiver gets
the ball, he can head up the strong side of the field or make a pass (as
long as both handoffs/laterals were not forward).  It might be a bit
confusing to execute, but more confusing to cover I hope.  With this play,
the QB can become a receiver as well - he'll just head straight up the
middle.

The Option Cross has the option to hand off to the RB to take it up the weak
side, or fake that and hit one of the receivers.

If anyone has anything else, send it to the list.  Otherwise this is the
playbook we'll start the season with.

8 of us turned up to toss the ball around on Saturday.  It was fun, too bad
you missed it.  Nobody has really claimed positions yet, so Coach Dan may
have to assign some unless you've got a preference.  I'll be a part-time QB,
Brian Schmuland might also take some reps at this position.  Our speediest
guys (Kei, Bryan showed some good speed and moves on Saturday) will be
rushers and inside receivers, the tallest guys will be wide receivers.

Everyone will play equal time.  For this week's exhibition game, I was
thinking of dividing the team in half, and for the first half one group
would be offense, and one would be defense.  For the second half, vice-versa
- everyone will have a turn on offense and defense.  Once we've determined
who's best suited where, and everyone is happy, we'll nail down some
definite positions.
